Romantic Meals for a Romantic Stay

January 19th, 2017

Last week you probably heard of our fantastic Valentines offer, with a bottle of bubbly and rose petals on the bed, but to get the most out of your serviced apartments during your romantic stay then you’re probably wondering what to cook.

We’ve been racking our brains on what we think is some easy and simple, yet extremely romantic meals to cook for your partner and this is what we’ve come up with:

Starters

Bruschetta

Perhaps the easiest starter of all, take some nice crusty bread slice it at an angle (Top tip for making things look fancy), grill or chargrill it with olive oil and rub it with a garlic clove. Mix together some fresh tomatoes, olive oil, black olives and mixed herbs for the topping and serve.

Smoked Salmon and Risotto

Smoked Salmon is perhaps the most romantic starter of all, you could just do this with a simple lemon wedge and some parsley, however, make this an even more special dish by serving it along-side a white risotto. It’s a lot easier than you think, you just need a little patience, finely chopped white onion, gently fried until translucent with some seasoning, add a glass of white wine and reduce, then add in your rice, followed by chicken stock a little at a time until the rice is cooked.

Mains

Tomato pasta!

Traditional a Spaghetti Bolognese would be the easy thing to do on Valentines, one portion between two so you can share that romantic moment when you both try to eat the same piece of pasta. A fresh tomato pasta is our suggested alternative, something like the Burst Tomato Pasta with basil.

Posh Duck

Sometimes you want to go for a knock-out main and cooking duck is an easy way to persuade your partner that you know exactly what you’re doing in the kitchen, it’s our alternative to the more common steak! This recipe for Duck with a pomegranate glaze is a twist on Duck a l’orange.

Desserts

Raspberry Eton Mess

This is one dessert that looks stunning served in a glass and takes hardly any time at all, the hardest thing is whipping cream with some icing sugar! Toss through some broken meringues and raspberries – these will start to turn everything a little pink too!

Chocolate Fondue

What could be more romantic than dipping fruits, fudges and marshmallows into warm melted chocolate? You don’t need a fancy fondue kit to do this either, here’s a simple recipe to get your chocolate fondue right and you can add all your favourite treats to dip in.

Here’s our Valentine’s Deal for you if you missed it.
